Julie Talsma-Puls, Ikkyu, Instructor of Little Dragons Program
2011: Julie Talsma-Puls started her martial arts training at Dragon Fire Karate under the instruction of Grandmaster Bob Janecek, Sensei Rebecca Wren and Sensei Joe Roque.
2013: Under the direction of Sensei Joe Roque, Julie Talsma-Puls started the Little Dragons Program at Dragon Fire Karate for children ages 4-6 years old on Mondays 4:30 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.
2015: Julie Talsma-Puls currently trains at Dragon Fire Karate. She holds the rank of Ikkyu (1st Brown) and continues to run the Little Dragons Program and also is an assistant instructor at the Child Karate Classes.
Julie Talsma-Puls has a passion for self-defense in the Martial Arts. She believes that EVERYONE deserves the chance to learn to protect and defend themselves, regardless of size, age, gender, strength, physical abilities or demographics. She believes that Martial Arts training is a very good way of life which develops strong self esteems, builds confidence and increases awareness which can be used in all aspects of life. Julie Talsma-Puls is a strong competitor in Illinois State Martial Arts Circuit tournaments and competes in Forms, Weapons, Self-Defense and Sparring. She also attends International Training Camp Seminars through the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame and attends other local seminars as well.
